Euthanasia She looked around, the sterile smells and feelings assaulting her senses. A warm body rest in her lap, salt tears streaming down her cheeks. Pale fingers were entwined with soft fur, girl and dog holding on to those final moments. A clear liquid was forced through a clear tube and into old, waiting veins. The sobbing started then; blue eyes of the girl fixed on the dark brown of the dog. She was repeating I love you between sobs. Her whole body was aching, her eyes overflowing with the pain, guilt and loss. She left the life being drained away from her best friend, her fingernails biting into the palm of her hand, crimson beEuthanasia
